COVID-19 and how we’re adapting

Pre-screening of patients requesting an appointment

We must now introduce pre-screening for any patient requesting an appointment. You must first make contact with the practice to speak to us about your problem.

If we feel like we can help you via a telephone or video consultation initially, this will be offered. However if you still think you require a face to face appointment we will need to go though a series of questions to assess your health risk to COVID 19.

If the risks are acceptable and within guidelines you can then agree to a face to face consultation and book an appointment with us. This is the same for existing patients of Active Health and new patients.

A few environmental changes

To allow for an increase in face to face treatments we have had to make a few changes to how the practice will look. All the linens in the treatment rooms have been removed and all surfaces have been decluttered to allow for ease of cleaning, helping to keep you and others safe.

We have implemented social distancing measures where possible and are staggering appointment start times when more than one practitioner is working. We are also providing a remote reception service to help reduce numbers of people in the building.

Cleaning and PPE

Clinic rooms and common areas are being cleaned and disinfected between every patient.

For your treatment, your practitioner may look a little different too, as following guidelines we are now required to wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), which for us currently means a face mask, gloves and plastic apron. Our patients will also be required to wear a face mask which will be provided to you.

Not forgetting, while in the practice we have plenty of hand sanitiser and will encourage patients to wash their hands regularly.
